Reconstructing History pattern RH967 — Victorian 1860s Elliptical Cage Crinoline sewing pattern.
Sewing pattern for 3 versions of the elliptical crinoline; a skeleton version with boning and tape, a petticoat with boning and tape, and a hybrid version with boning and tape at the top and safety fabric hem at the bottom. Includes sewing patterns, detailed sewing description and historical facts. This pattern produces a crinoline with a circumference of 340 cm at the bottom. Fits all sizes.
MATERIAL & CONSUMPTION:
FABRIC: 4.5m for full petticoat / 1.5m for safety hem, lightweight cotton fabric (150cm wide)
BONING: approx. 26-38m (depending on the version you make), sturdy flat steel boning 7mm or 14mm wide.
CHANNEL TAPE: 28-40m (depending on the version you make) channeling tape or herringbone tape (use double the length if using plain herringbone tape)
VERTICAL TAPE: 9m herringbone tape (not needed for petticoat) .
OTHER ACCESSORIES: Hook&eyes or buttons for closure.
